

Jimmy was born in Mobile, AL, on November 9, 1941, to Charles James Fox Sr. and Mary Ruth Jackson Fox and passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017. At the age of nine, shortly after the death of his father, he moved to Baton Rouge with his mother, younger sister and brother. He married his high school sweet heart and together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage, raised three children and were partners in the furniture business. He was the owner of Cedars Home Furnishings and La-Z-Boy Galleries in Baton Rouge. Jimmy was loved and respected by his many customers and associates for his honesty, easy-going personality, and quick wit. He is survived by his wife Sandra Blanchard Fox; his son, Dr. Charles James (Chuck) Fox, III and wife Mary Beth of Shreveport; daughters, Ashley Fox Hunt and husband Mark and Adrienne Fox Callender and husband Mark, both of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Christopher Fox and wife Lindsay of Seattle, Mary Elise, Patrick, Julia, Claire, and Margaret Fox, Hayden, Grayson, and Parker Hunt, and Garrett and Andrew Callender; and great granddaughters, Emma and Mary Jo Fox; brother, Alan Fox and wife Brenda of Knoxville, TN; sister in law, Linda Blanchard Jeffers and husband John Taylor of Baton Rouge, and brother in law Michael Blanchard of Lafayette. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Carolyn Fox; grandson Clayton Randal Callender; and brothers in law, Maurice Owen Blanchard Jr and Brian Gregory Blanchard. Jimmy’s humility and kindness filled them all with joy and provided an everlasting example for generations to come. The family would like to thank Dr. Roy Kadair and his staff for their years of compassionate care, Dr. Gerald Callegan and staff of the Baton Rouge Neuromedical Center, and Willie Mikell. Visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church located at 11441 Goodwood Blvd. on Friday, March 31, 2017, from 9 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM celebrated by Father Frank Uter, a longtime family friend.
