

Charles Glen Richardson, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on December 11, 2021, at the age of 88. He retired as Resident Director of the LSU Agricultural Research Station in St. Gabriel, and he spent his career working in the Animal Science, Entomology, and Experiment Station Departments. He earned a bachelor's and a master's degree from LSU and was a Baton Rouge High School graduate. Charles was a lifetime member of the Louisiana Cattleman's Association, the Louisiana Cattleman's Association Spur Club, was a member of the American Brahman Breeders Association judges list, and a member of the LSU Alumni Block and Bridle Club Association. Charles served as an officer and board member of several Louisiana Sheep Associations and spent time assisting 4-H club members with their livestock projects. He served on the Louisiana District Soil and Water Conservation Board for Southeast Louisiana. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking and was an avid LSU baseball fan. Charles is survived by his wife, Peggy Cazes Richardson; a daughter Glenda (Jason) Lossett; and a granddaughter, Katherine. Also survived by a brother, Harold (Becky) Richardson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Corene Richardson; a brother, H.B. (Kate) Richardson; a sister, Betty (David) Broussard; and an infant daughter. Visitation will take place at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until services at noon. Interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Services will be conducted by Andy Hale, pastor of University Baptist Church, where Charles was a member. The family would like to thank the many medical professionals who cared for Charles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
