Denis John Guillaume passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the age of 76. Denis was in the US Navy and served two years in the Vietnam War. Eventually, he retired from the Baton Rouge General Hospital after 20 years of service in maintenance. Denis enjoyed metal detecting for Civil War relics, watching LSU and Saints football, fishing, hunting, and was a great story teller. People reveled in his jokes, personality, and sense of humor. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. He will be truly missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Denis is survived by his children, Maureen Van Norman (Don), Christopher Guillaume (Annie), Noel Guillaume, and April Duplessis (Chris); grandchildren, Amber, Casey, Mason, Madison, Ava, and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Jayce, Clementine, and coming soon, Adelaide, Aiden, Caden, Gunner, Lulu; brother, David Guillaume; and a host of other loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40ish years, Judy; son, Deme Guillaume; daughter-in-law, Alicia Guillaume; parents, J.B. and Betty Guillaume. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Sunday, April, 21, 2024, from 10:30am until the time of memorial services at 12pm. Burial will happen on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 11am, at LA National Cemetery, 303 W. Mount Pleasant Dr., Zachary, LA.
