Denise R. Southern, resident of Baton Rouge, passed away at the Carpenter House on May 28, 2013. She was born November 10, 1953 in Edmundston, New Brunswick Canada to the late Louis Emile and Simone Rossignol. Denise served as a nurse for 36 years. She had a passion for taking care of critical needs patients and comforting families. Denise dealt with her work in a light-hearted manner and she treated her success with the utmost humility. She was referred to as a “hero” by her patients and doctors. Denise was a loving mother, great friend, and being Henry’s grandmother was her favorite thing in the world. She is survived by her daughters, Nicole Southern and husband Kevin, and Michelle Southern; grandson, Stephen “Henry” Crawford II; sisters, Madeleine Floyd, Lise Raynor and Ghislaine Boserman; and numerous other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Paul Rossignol. A Memorial Service will be 6pm, Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church at LSU, 11 W Fraternity Ln Baton Rouge 70803. Donations may be made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
