He was a retired East Baton Rouge Parish School Board English teacher at Central Middle School. Don was a native of Tullos and a resident of Baton Rouge. He died at 1:25am Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Amber Terrace Assistant Living. Don was 79. He was a member of Florida Blvd. Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Friday, Feb. 1, from 9:00am until the religious service in the chapel at 11:00am, conducted by the Rev. Joey Beeson. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his brother: Jerry Mott of Monroe; sister-in-law: Helen Alexander of Baton Rouge; brother-in-law: L.W. Alexander of Baton Rouge; nephew: Justin Hawthorne of Houston, Texas. and numerous other nieces&nephews. Don was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Aline Alexander Mott; parents: William M.&Georgia Gates Mott; sisters: Nelda Cochran and Elgin "Jean" Rusk; brothers: Dick Mott and Kenneth Mott. Pallbearers will be: Timothy, Perry and David Alexander, Clinton A. Hamilton, Henry Pere' IV and Craig Broussard. Memorial donations may be made to ALS or Parkinson's Foundation.
