Resident of Baton Rouge and native of New Orleans, he passed away December 25, 2015. He was 82. He retired from Hi Nabor Grocery Store. Survived by his wife of 58 years Bernice LeBlanc Songy; Son, Dale Songy and wife Diane; 2 daughters, Donna Bolton and husband Tad and Sharon Salzer and husband Bill; Son-in-law Rickie Callegan; 10 grandchildren, Suzette and Chad Songy, Taylor, Andrew, and Kevin Bolton, William, Stephen, and Emily Salzer , Reed and Adam Callegan; and One great-grandchild, Ezra Bolton. Preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Helen Songy Sr.; Brothers, Ellis Jr., Joe, and Robert "Skee" Songy; Daughter, Tammy Callegan; and Granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Bolton. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic High and St. Michaels High School. Visitation will be Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9am until Mass of Christian burial at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
