Doris Overby Romeo

Doris Overby Daves Romeo, better known as Maw Maw, passed away in Houston, TX on January 2, 2014. Doris was born in Baton Rouge on the 26th of March, 1928 to parents, D.W. Overby and Edith Baker Coor Overby. Maw Maw was preceded in death by her infant son, Wayne Daves, her sister, Evelyn Overby Trigg, her first husband Ed Daves, her husband, Jack Romeo and her son-in-law Mike Maurer. She is survived by her two sisters, Addie Beth Overby Johnson and Jo Ellen Overby Hurt LeBlanc, her son and his wife, Drift and Debbie Daves, her daughter and her husband, Bobbye and Chris Adams, her daughter, Laura Maurer, and many grand and great grandchildren. MawMaw had a special love and passion for LSU , her puppy, Tiger, her family, and her neighbors. She loved to serve afternoon coffee and dessert at her house, play Bingo, and cheer on her Tigers. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd on Monday January 6, 2014 from 4pm until 8pm. Visitation will be at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12noon. Burial will follow in Roselawn Gardens of Memory. She will be greatly missed here but we are all rejoicing in her complete healing. We know that she is surely adding some purple to the streets of gold in Heaven.
