

Dorothy, known as Dottie, entered into the Lord’s presence on Monday, June 25 at the age of 87. She was born to Arthur Reid and Jessie Denny Berry on October 16, 1930 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was a resident of Baton Rouge.
Dottie was a woman of great devotion. She was devoted to her Christian faith. She was devoted to her family. As a homemaker and a mother of four, she was blessed with many talents. An excellent cook and a talented seamstress, painting, and ceramics were a few of her many gifts.
She is survived by her four sons; Reid and wife, Rita, Mark and wife, Mary, Craig and wife, Judy and Bryan and her grandchildren Ryan, Roger, Ricky, Adam, Elizabeth. Rachel, Amanda, Stephen, Grayson, Kevin, and Keith as well as fourteen great-grandchildren with another to arrive in December. Dottie is also survived by her sister, Marie Robinson, and her nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Clarence E. Jurey, her parents, and a sister, Mary Katherine.
On Monday, July 2, Visitation will be held at GreenOaks Memorial Park from 10: 00a.m to 12:00p.m. The service and internment will follow at GreenOaks at noon, officiated by Brother Mike Ferguson, her pastor from Lanier Baptist Church. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
We thank Vernishia, her caregiver during the last week of her life. The family also expresses deep gratitude to St. Joseph’s Hospice for their care and compassion for our mother. Words cannot express the appreciation we have for family members, neighbors, and friends for their prayers and support during this time.
