
A retired bookkeeper with Holmes&Barnes Wholesale Grocery, she died at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 82, a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Religious service at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 25, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. William Eubanks. Interment in Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, at 1:30 p.m. Survived by her husband of 57 years, Russell B. Tucker Sr.; a daughter, Connie Marie Tucker; a son, Russell B. Tucker Jr. and wife Susan Guidry Tucker; two sisters, Betty Basso McAllister and her husband, Earl Sr., and Audrey Basso Childers; sister-in-law, Patsy Tucker Barnes and her husband, Roy; brother-in-law, Lucius Tucker and his wife, Joan; five grandchildren, Kimberly Marie Blake and her husband, William Maurice Blake III, Brittany Brooke Guelfo and her husband, Jonathan Lawrence Guelfo, Alan Carpenter, Robyn Blair Carpenter, and Clay Stephens Tucker; great-granchildren, Kayla Marie Blake, Tucker Lawrence Guelfo, and William Matthew Blake; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Marie Basso; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mortee and Mattie Tucker. Pallbearers will be Alan Carpenter, Clay Tucker, William Blake, Jonathan Guelfo, Joseph Pardo and Roy Barnes. Honorary pallbearers are Robin Poirier, Lucius Tucker, Earl McAllister, Frank Fertitta and Kenneth DeJean. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and Baton Rouge Business College, and a member of Goodwood Baptist Church.
