Dot is survived by her loving husband of 63 years David Wirth, daughter Laura “Jeanie” Wirth and son William “Billy” Wirth (Debbie King), grandsons Jered Petrie (Carolyn Moss) and Derek Wirth, great-grandson Liam Petrie, sister Marie Hardy, and brother Bobby Wise (Patti). She was preceded in death by her parents Bernice and Cortez Wise, sister Sue Knighten, brothers William Wise and James Wise, and brothers-in-law Merrell Knighten and John Hardy.
Dot was on the Board of Directors of the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair for nearly 30 years, which honored her with an endowed scholarship in her name at LSU. She was a charter member of the Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge and Woman’s Week. Dot was a graduate of Haynesville High School and attended LSU.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 28th at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, followed by her memorial service at 2:00 pm.
