
Our father, Edward Justin Lundin Sr., the head and heart of his family, was called home to the loving arms of his heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the age of 89 in Waveland, Miss. A man among few of such honor, character and faith, he will be sorely missed by his family and legions of friends whose lives he touched by the example of the selfless, loving life he led. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ella Lundin; four brothers; and his beloved wife, Elaine Sill Lundin. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; and a sister, Carmel Schneider. He left a legacy of values to his eight children, Mary Elaine Caplinger, Edward Justin Lundin Jr. and his wife, Mady, Thomas Charles Lundin and his wife, Darlene, Mary Margaret Waldrep and her husband, Rusty, Frederick John Lundin, Mary Althea Bartholomew and her husband, Joseph, Francis Walter Lundin and his wife, Dawn, and Brien Flaherty Lundin and his wife, Francesca; his stepchildren, Jane Berg and her husband, Bob, Emily Sue Lepard and her husband, William, Roger Munson and Deborah Shelton; and his 20 grandchildren, Charles Arthur Caplinger IV and his wife, Rebel, Molly O'Meara Papania and her husband, Don, Ryan Lundin Caplinger, Edward Justin Lundin III, Mary Shelby Lundin, Thomas Charles Lundin Jr., Marcus Louis Lundin and his wife, Honey, Eva Maria Lundin, Jennifer Elaine Vaccaro and her husband, Robert, Davis Justin Lunsford, Erin Lundin Lunsford, Kristen Elaine Lundin, Katelyn Elizabeth Lundin, Frederick John Lundin Jr., Colleen Flaherty Bartholomew, Keith Patrick Bartholomew, Sean Howell Lundin, Cameron Jean Barre, Blake O'Brien Lundin and Shannon Elaine Lundin; and 10 great-grandchildren, Adelaide Elaine, Connor Edward and Claire Anne Caplinger, Colin Anthony and Patrick Ryan Papania, Griffin Weaver, Carter Louis, and Brock Daniel Lundin, Abigayle Sophie and Isabelle Maya Louise Lunsford; and his dear friend and neighbor, Russell Voorhies. Pallbearers will be his 10 grandsons. Born in New Orleans, Mr. Lundin was a resident of Baton RougeandWaveland, Miss., for more than 50 years. He was sales manager with CC&W Enterprises Inc., manufacturer's representative for Ludowici Roof Tile Inc., a graduate of Jesuit High School, New Orleans, attended Loyola University, New Orleans, first grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Mother of Mercy Council 4030 from 1955-1956, a member of Knights of Columbus fourth degree, Monsignor Gassler General Assembly, past president of the former Construction Industry Association of Baton Rouge, a three-term member of the board of directors of the National Roofing Contractors Association, co-founder and charter member of the Baton Rouge Roofing&Sheet Metal Contractors Association and he helped establish the Roofing and Sheet Metal unions in Baton Rouge. He was also past president of the Irish Club of Baton Rouge, past grand marshal of the 1970 Irish Club of Baton Rouge Parade and a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, March 8, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Entombment in Roselawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances to St. Rose de Lima Outreach and Recovery, 301 S.
