

"Elaine Hill Brandao died Thursday, December 6 in Baton Rouge. She was 94. A native of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Brandao lived in the city most of her life. She is survived by her sons, and their wives: David and Barbara LaRose Brandao of Fredericksburg, Va., and Greg and Jody Philips Brandao of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Hill Tassin of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren: Derek Brandao of Boston, Mass.; Daniel Brandao of Richmond, Va.; Mark Brandao of Dallas, Texas; Renée Brandao of Fredericksburg, Va.; Erin Brandao of Dallas, Texas and Allison Brandao of Portland, Ore., as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John T. Hill Sr. and Eunice LeJeune Hill; her brothers, Neff Lynn Hill, John T. Hill Jr. and Raymond Hill; her sons' father, James Perry Brandao; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Sills Brandao. Mrs. Brandao was a graduate of LSU and worked for a number of years as an accountant with the Louisiana State Department of Education. A memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be prior to Mass, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. The family notes that contributions to charity in her memory would be appreciated.
