

Leo Stanley, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on September 19, 2017 at the age of 77. Leo graduated from North Little Rock High School and received a B.A. from Henderson State University in 1962. He was very proud to serve his country as a Captain in the United States Army and Arkansas National Guard (1962-79). Leo retired as founding President and CEO of Louisiana Health Care Review, now eQHealth Solutions. Under his leadership as the first CEO the company grew and prospered becoming the national company that it is today. He continued to serve eQHealth as a Board Member and Secretary of the corporation until his death. Leo loved people and ministered to international students for the past 27 years as mentor, friend and “Grandfather”, visiting many in their home countries. He was a gifted pianist with the ability to play anything by ear and had a remarkable eye for photography. Leo is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret Stanley, daughter Shay Stanley of Baton Rouge, sister Beverly McCollum (David) and nephew Gavin McCollum of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Predeceased by parents Elbert and Letha Stanley, paternal grandparents William and Susan Stanley and maternal grandparents William and Katie Smith. The family would like to express thanks to Dr. John Godke and all of the ICU Team, especially nurses Kandace and Jacob and 6th floor staff of BRGH Bluebonnet. Visitation will be held at University Baptist Church, 5775 Highland Road on Saturday, September 23 from 12 noon until time of service at 2 pm. Donations in Leo Stanley’s memory can be made to UBC Church of the Nations.
