Elio was born on November 24, 1957, in Caracas, Venezuela. Driven by ambition and love for his family, he moved to Baton Rouge to study at Louisiana State University, where he got his master’s degree in accounting, then became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and built an admirable career through dedication, integrity, and hard work. Leaving behind a successful life in Venezuela, Elio courageously pursued greater opportunities for his family, balancing his studies, work, and raising a family while establishing roots in Louisiana—a place he came to love and proudly call home.
Above all, Elio’s proudest accomplishments were as a husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Lucy Ramos, and their two children, Bibi Ramos Hebert (David Hebert) and Eliot Alexander Ramos. He was the adoring grandfather of Noah, Beau David, and Hudson Hayes Hebert, who brought him endless joy and pride.
Elio was a selfless, determined man - wise beyond measure and always present to those he loved. He never missed an opportunity to cheer from the sidelines at his grandsons’ games, always their biggest supporter. One of his favorite traditions was taking them out to eat afterward, replaying every moment, celebrating their effort, and turning each meal into a joyful lesson filled with love and laughter. He taught his family to embrace life to the fullest, and together they traveled the world — always planning the next adventure before the last one had even ended — creating treasured memories wherever they went. His love for family was his greatest legacy, one that will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A private family service will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends and loved ones to honor Elio by embracing each moment, cherishing family, and living with the same joy and gratitude he embodied every day.
