

Born on January 22, 1957, in Baton Rouge to William E. “Ed” and Lita Rea Hamilton, Elizabeth lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion. She spent many years in Independence, Missouri, serving as the editor of the Gospel Tract Society, a role she fulfilled with passion and dedication.
Elizabeth had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished cats, who brought her great joy throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William E. “Ed” Hamilton and Lita Rea Hamilton; her devoted husband, David Buttram of Independence, Missouri; and her brother, James E. Hamilton Sr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Elizabeth’s memory lives on through her brother, Jeffrey “Jeff” Hamilton, and his wife, Monica, along with their children, Sarah, Andrew and his wife, Madi, and their daughter, Elizabeth.
She is also survived by her former sister-in-law, Valerie Hamilton Burns; and her children, James E “Jay”Hamilton Jr, and his wife, Alison, and their son, Sawyer. Kara Miller, and her husband, Ron, along with their two children, Saylor and Thor, and Caden Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice in Elizabeth’s memory.
