Elizabeth "Betsy" Guglielmo

Elizabeth “Betsy” Hall Guglielmo passed away on August 21, 2021 at her home in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, having graduated from Baton Rouge High School and LSU. Betsy was a woman of many talents who could master anything she set her mind to, such as, gardening, needlework, and photography. She was known for her gentle, generous, and vivacious spirit. She loved all things beautiful and was adored by all who knew her. Betsy was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie “Munner” Joffrion, her beloved sister, Doris Dean and her bother-in-law, Joe Dean, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Carey J. Guglielmo, Sr. and their three children: Nell Guglielmo Patrick and husband Patrick, Carey J. Guglielmo, Jr, and wife Ashley, and Doris Guglielmo Cather, and husband Ham. Betsy was a completely devoted grandmother to her eight grandchildren: Betsy Patrick Pharis, Tapper Patrick, Mary Frances Patrick, Tyree Patrick, Carey “Tripp” Guglielmo III, Anne Scott Guglielmo, James Cather, Jr, and William Cather. On Thursday, August 26th, there will be a visitation at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 8:45-10:00am. Rev. Cleo J. Milano will officiate a funeral mass immediately following. The family wishes to thank her devoted caregiver, Ms. Mary Belin. Donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, or the charity of your choosing in memory of Betsy Guglielmo.
