
Barnett, Jr. Elwyn E.He was a retired supervisor for Exxon/Mobil with over 30 years service. Elwyn was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. Elwyn was called to the loving arms of our Lord at 3:00pm Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Baton Rouge at the age of 87. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Monday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8:30am until the religious service at 10:30am, conducted by the Rev. Tommy Galey. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his three sons: Elwyn W. "Wyn" Barnett&wife Vicki, Robert S. "Scott" Barnett&wife Elizabeth, and Randolph B. "Randy" Barnett&wife Stacy; grandchildren: Brittany Barnett, Sheryl Barnett, John Mark Barnett, Nathan Barnett&wife Rose, Mary DeLaTorre&husband Nelson, Adam J. Hebert&wife Christina, Geoffery S. Hebert&wife Teresa, Natasha Nations, Misty Nations and Brandon Nations; great-grandchildren: Madeline Kirschner, Julia Kirschner, Jacquelyn Isabella Nelson, Peter Nelson, Isabella Hebert, Wyatt Hebert, Knox Hebert, Nathaniel Barnett, Josue Ordaz Jr., Carson DeLaTorre and Camila DeLaTorre. He is also survived by his two best friends in the world, his sister-in-law: Carol Barnett and lifelong friend, Shirley Sharkey Miller. He was preceded in death by wife of 60 years and the love of his life: Joyce Gail Jones Barnett; his parents: Earl&Julia Barnett; and his brother: Wayne Barnett. Pallbearers will be Ronald Barnett, Brent Barnett, Nathan Barnett, John Mark Barnett, Kenner Miller and Matt Galey. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Brown, Mike Gonzales and Jeff Gerald. Elwyn was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and attended LSU. He loved LSU football and baseball, along with the New Orleans Saints. Elwyn loved his son's musical interests and hobbies. He was always there for his family. His family meant everything to him. The family would like to thank Feliciana Home Health Care Services, especially Willie Burton and his Registered Nurse, Susan. Also a special thanks to Mike Gonzales for his help with the care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association.
