After a lengthy battle with his health, Eric J. Hebert Jr., 87, passed away August 21, 2024, at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Eric was born on September 22, 1937, in Washington DC the son of the late Eric Hebert Senior and Agnes Landry Hebert. He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School in Baton Rouge Louisiana, class of 1955. He was an Electrician for Exxon Mobile Refinery for 30 years in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Eric was also a member of the volunteer firefighter squad at Exxon.
Eric was known for his love of LSU baseball and had all the memorabilia to prove his passion for the team. Eric enjoyed motorhome camping for many years and was a member of several camping clubs. Eric enjoyed sitting in his recliner with a dachshund always on his lap.
In addition to his parents, Eric Hebert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosemary Hebert, his sister Patricia Messina and his daughter in law Debbie Hebert.
His survivors include: daughter Sandy Bickham and husband John Bickham; son Ricky Hebert; daughter Wendy Dickson and husband Pete Dickson; sister Debbie Boles and husband Chester Boles, 6 grandchildren: Kellie Halford, Katie Tingle, Laura Dickson, Bryce Hebert, Sarah Nevotti, and Kaylynn Fugler; 7 great grandchildren, and other extended family.
Eric’s family would like to thank the staff from Whealdon Estates as well as the staff at IPC services, especially Mrs. Laura, for their compassion and exceptional care. They also want to give special thanks to Allen Thomason Jr. for loving and taking such good care of “Pop.”
The family would like to invite you to join them for a celebration of his life at Rabenhorst East in Baton Rouge on Saturday, August 24th at noon with a visitation from 10am-12pm. The burial will follow the services located at Roselawn Memorial Park.
