Ethel Ann Guedry

Ethel Ann “Tolly” Guedry, passed away on Friday March 7, 2025, at the age of 98. She was 1 of 6 children to the late Wallace and Mathilde Constant of Thibodaux, LA. She enjoyed playing sports and was offered a basketball scholarship to LSU. She chose instead to marry her high school sweetheart, Warren Guedry Sr. They loved each other, worked tirelessly together, raising their own team of 10 children, as if that was what they were meant to do.

Just as she was good at keeping her ‘eye on the basketball’, she kept close watch over her children. She especially liked cheering them on at the ballpark, on the field, and court.

When the last child entered school, she became the school secretary. It was not until they all were grown, did she begin to travel. But the sight of her family always brought her the most happiness. When asked how she accomplished it all she said, “Without Jesus I am nothing.”

She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She is survived by all her children and their spouses. Stanley and Patti, Susan Hyland, Warren Jr. and Debbie, Jimmy and Ramona, Liz and Wayne Barbin, Margie Huguet, Timmy and Lynn, Mary and Lui Campos, Tommy and Mary, Patrick and Alyssa. She had 28 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild. We are so grateful for all who lovingly cared for her at Pinnacle Hospice, The Claiborne at Shoe Creek, St. Joseph’s Hospice and Carpenter House.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., Greenwell Springs, LA. 70739 on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial will be take place at a later date.
