Floyd Joseph Speyrer, Sr., 73, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 21, 2015 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, Monday at the funeral home. Floyd was born July 18, 1942 in Leonville, LA. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He retired a supervisor after more than 30 years of service from Dow Chemical. Most recently, he worked at Sullivan Hardware where he found his second family. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. Floyd found happiness through family, work and helping others. He touched the lives of many people with his selfless acts of kindness and loved spending time outside tending to his animals, garden or one of the many projects he had at any time. Floyd is survived by his three children, Joey Speyrer and his wife Kaira, Lita Speyrer Sanchez, Nicole York and her husband AB and his six beautiful grandchildren.
