
A retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force and a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, he died at 9:35 a.m.Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing. He was 90, a resident and native of Baton Rougeand a former employee of Exxon Co. USA. Visiting at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church on Monday, Feb. 5, from 2 p.m.until religious service at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Hawley Wolfe. Interment inGreenoaksMemorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Matovich Kirk; a sister, Helen Kirk Griffon; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Sammie Kirk; nieces and nephews, Kay Griffon Smart, Martha Townsend, Donna and Frank Bass, Susan and Bill Ethridge, Mark and Lisa Kirk, and Lorrain and Paul Kirk. Pallbearers will be Paul, Mark, Don and Mark Landry Kirk, Bill Ethridge and Kirk Smart. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Bob Hansen, Joe Glass, Ray Zeppuhar and Bob Bradford. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Military Order of World Wars, American Legion and Dadlians, an organization of military pilots.
