
A resident and native of Baton Rouge, born on May 10, 1930, he passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. He was retired from the Louisiana Department of Revenue and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Friday, May 11, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jerry Martin. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Blake Layton of Starkville, Miss.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne and Wendy Brogdon of Port Allen, and Allen Brogdon of Baton Rouge; a sister, Anna Lee Brogdon Shurtz of Destrehan; a very special friend, Claudene Davis of Haughton; and six grandchildren, Caleb, Grace and Hetty Layton, and Matthew, Annalane and Wes Brogdon. He was a graduate of Catholic High School and LSU. He was also a member of American Legion Nicholson Post 38. He was active in the support of Catholic High School and the Catholic High Men's Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942.
