Gloria "Cinny" Chustz Breaux

"Gloria Chustz Breaux, affectionately known by family and friends as Mom Cin or Cinny, passed peacefully away at home on August 28, 2018. She was born January 9, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Roy and Gertrude Jewell Chustz, and her sister, Jewell Chustz James. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Vernon Andrew Breaux; a brother, Dr. Joseph Roy Chustz, Jr., DDS (Carmen); a sister-in-law, Marie Schexnailder; 2 sons-Andrew Vernon Breaux, Jr. (Joyce) of Lafayette and Stephen Ryan Breaux and a daughter-Kathleen Sylvest (Thomas); 4 granddaughters-Rebecca Breaux Venable (Dustin), Emily Breaux, Kaitlyn Breaux, and Carly Breaux; 2 great-grandchildren-Cooper and Lylah Venable. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School and Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing. She began her career at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in the Labor and Delivery Unit followed by over forty years as an Occupational Health Nurse. She was a founding member of the Louisiana and Baton Rouge Associations of Occupational Health Nurses and served eight years on the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Visitation will be from 6-9pm, Friday, August 31, 2018 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East and from 10-11am, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge immediately followed by religious services and interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice.
