

Gloria was born to Albert and Ella Johnson Lamotte in Baton Rouge, La. on January 14, 1935. She graduated from Capitol High School in 1952. She married her late husband Edward in 1954 and had 7 children. Gloria was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church for 60+ years. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Peter Claver Court 351 and the Women’s Club.
Gloria was a beautiful, faith-filled, humble, and kind woman. She possessed class and grace like no other. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
On June 1, 2023, at the age of 88 she entered the arms of the Lord surrounded by love. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward “King Edward” Williams, Sr.; her brothers Ralph, Andrew, Jessie Clarence, Johnny and Herman Lamotte; and her granddaughter, Alicia Peterson. She is survived by her children Karen Peterson (Willard), Darrel Williams (Karen), Catherine Anderson (Marcel), Edward Williams, Jr. (Melanie), Elaine Riggins (Toney), Albert Williams, Calvin Williams (Chandra); siblings Murphy Lamotte and Marva Johnson; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 3912 Gus Young Ave, Baton Rouge, La 70802, from 8 am until services start at 9 am. Burial immediately following at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
