

Glyn Dale Harding, a retired maintenance superintendent of UniRoyal & Big Cajun, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010. He was 82 and a resident of Central. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Saturday from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The Rev. Alec Sheldon will be presiding over the services. Glyn is survived by his wife, Theresa Harding; three daughters, Margie and husband Raphael Soileau, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Beth Harding, of Central, and Connie and husband Wayne Olinger, of Pelahatchie, Miss.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Patsy Harding, of Central, Glyn Jr. and Mona Harding, of Pride, and Mark and Nora Harding, of Coinjock, N.C.; stepchildren, Gerald and Yvonne Harding, Clothilde and husband Gary Bailey, and Tammy and husband Chris Shows; sister, Lorraine and husband Clayton Hudson, of Baton Rouge; 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Glyn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Harding; parents, Clifford and Hazel Harding; brothers, Donald Harding and Jerry Harding; and stepchildren, Keith Harding and Brian Harding. Pallbearers will be Ray Soileau Jr., Jason Olinger, Trey Harding, Jeremy Harding, Matt Harding, Paul Creel, Jerrold Olinger and Mark Harding Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glyn's honor to St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge.
