
A native and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Grace died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at age 84. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Visiting at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave., from 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gerald Burns, celebrant. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Services under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Castro Boudreaux and husband Jimmie J. Boudreaux, and Cathy Castro Ledet and husband Ellis "Skip" Ledet Jr.; three sons, William "Bill" Castro and wife Vicki Crochet, Dale Castro and wife Renee Arnondin, and Paul Castro and wife Ava Newton; nine grandchildren, Julie Castro Kato and husband Victor, Kristy Castro Kappel and husband Jeff, Heather Romero and husband Jack, Michael Castro, Jennifer Castro Ledet and husband Jace, Suzanne Boudreaux Gates and husband Brian, Stacy Boudreaux Steimel and husband Brad, Scott Ledet and fianceé Jessica Soileau, Clare Ledet Criss and husband Jeremy; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Philip M. Castro Jr.; parents, Joseph O. and Cornelia "Nan" O'Rillion; and five sisters, Gertie Goldman, Rose Cox, Eva Grunhart, Nellie Nettles, and Vera Parker. Pallbearers will be Bill Castro, Dale Castro, Paul Castro, Jimmie Boudreaux, Ellis "Skip" Ledet, Scott Ledet, Russell Nettles and Mitch Goldman. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Goldman and Terry Verbois. Grace was a founding member and Eucharistic minister at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, member of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, St. Aloysius Altar Society, East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Alliance, Baton Rouge Ladies Golf Association and a 1943 graduate of Baton Rouge High School.
