Grant Stewart Thudium passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 73. The family would like to thank Landmark South Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center for their compassion and dedication to his care. He is survived by his son, Matthew Thudium; his daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Michael Atkinson; and most importantly, his two grandchildren, Ryan and Henry, whom he adored. He is also survived by his brother, John Thudium, and his sister, Carolyn Clark. Grant will be remembered for his many “to-do” lists, for never charging his cell phone, and for his enduring hatred of red beans and rice served in the school cafeteria with canned peaches when he was 11 years old. Grant loved to read, and he never stopped learning. He loved to give gifts (and receive them). He loved Indy 500 and useless facts and stand-up comedy; but not as much as he loved Coca Cola (in the can, please). He loved us and we loved him. He will be missed. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10AM-12PM at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815 followed by a Celebration of Grant’s Life at 12PM. In lieu of flowers, if you are able, please send donations in Grant’s honor to the National Geographic Society.
