
Ken was a retired U.S. Army major and a business owner. A native of Plaquemine, he died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at his home in Baton Rouge at age 65. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Army Reserve. He served in Vietnam while with the Corps of Engineers and was awarded 13 medals, including the Bronze Star. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Aug. 19, was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until religious service in the funeral home chapel at noon Thursday, conducted by Deacon Tommy St. Pierre, of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church. The family has requested cremation. He is survived by his wife, Gloria D. Roth; stepdaughter, Elizabeth McCleary and husband Brian, of Sacramento, Calif.; stepson, Brian Owens, of Monterey, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Jimmy Johnson, of Minden; three brothers, Walter Adam Roth III, Billy Roth, and Victor Roth and wife Roxanne, all of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Audrey Roth; and brother, Louie S. Roth. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Feed the Children, P.O.
