
"The Lord is my strength and my salvation." A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, he passed away at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 97, a Plaquemine native and a resident of Baton Rouge. He retired from ExxonMobil in 1976 as process step-up supervisor. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting will resume at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Monday, Jan. 4, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Blanchard, celebrant. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Harry Jr. and Ruth Stevens, of Walker, Clement and Shari Stevens, of Boise, Idaho, Mark and Debbie Stevens, of Gonzales, and David and Vivian Stevens, of Livingston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Roger Melancon, of Baton Rouge, and Rita and Joe Joffrion, of Alexandria; former spouse, Clara Roger, of Lafayette; longtime friend, Hilda Gauthier; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Dorothy Stevens; and sister, Jeannette Walker. Preceded in death by his parents, Mary Louise Braud and Walter Allen Stevens; wife and mother of his children, Agnes Adelaide Roubique Stevens; and eight siblings. >
