Harvey John West

Harvey John West, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, born August 21, 1927, passed away on July 21, 2016 at the age of 88. He was a native of Galvez, LA. and a resident of Greenwell Springs. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served his country in World War II. He is retired from Jack’s Cookie Company. He was a long time member and usher of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Harvey is survived by his son, Richard West (wife Mary); daughter, Mary “Lee” Watts (husband Richard); grandchildren, Monica West, Lindsay West Jendryk (husband Bradley), Allyson Watts Chiro (husband Jordan), and Jennifer Watts Cowart (husband Courtney); 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rever Vidrine, Susie Arceneaux, Emerson West, Allen West, and Linda Krause. He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary Lou G. West; parents, John and Leontine L. West; siblings, Mattie Cook, Margie Norton, and John R. West, Jr. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 10:30 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon located at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (Greenwell Springs, LA) conducted by Rev. Frank Uter. Interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
