
A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 72, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Los Angeles. Henry was a retired process operator with Allied Signal (Honeywell) with 40 years service and a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 10455. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Edna Buriege Prochaska; children, Randy Prochaska and wife Mary, Baton Rouge, Gary Prochaska and wife Carrie, Prairieville, Karen Gautreaux and husband Perry, Greenwell Springs, and Greta LaFleur and husband Darrell, Pearland, Texas; grandchildren, Dená Puente, Dacy Rieger, Tyson and Kristin Gautreaux, Meagan, Amanda and Eric Prochaska; and great-grandson, Gavin Rieger. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry A. and Albertine Van Berckelaer Prochaska. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, March 25, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., led by Knights of Columbus Council 10455. Visiting will continue at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Old Jefferson Highway, on Thursday from 11 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, with the Rev. Michael Collins, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Perry and Tyson Gautreaux, Darrell LaFleur, Louis Buriege, Robert Soileau, Michael Cashio and Everett Barrow. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Puente and Kevin Rieger. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Most Blessed Sacrament Church Building Fund.
