Henry Irvin Townley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on December 28, 2020 (birthday of his deceased son Lee), at the age of 66. Irvin was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, where he was also a resident his entire life. He was the General Manager of Scientific Systems, Inc. where he was employed for 47 years. Irvin did everything BIG ... He cried big, he got mad big, he cooked big, he worked big, but most importantly he loved big. He loved his wife, his family, his grandchildren, coworkers, and friends. He also loved coaching. He coached baseball, football and softball. He was the head football coach and president of the athletic club at St. Alphonsus for 13 years, beginning before his son was old enough to play. He loved his LSU Tigers, and he yelled at them BIG. He was a member of the men's club and worked with the ushers at St. Alphonsus Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pam; daughter, Katherine "Kitty" (husband Jeff); 3 grandchildren "the light of his eyes", Aaron Lee, Leah Faith, Harlee Love; and brother, Dwayne (wife Kim). He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee Townley; and mother and father, James and Marie Townley. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation held at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 5 pm to 8 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs, on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 1:30 pm followed by interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be Jeff Poulin, Robert Donald Jr, Michael Donald, Donald Holmes, Douglas Holmes, Dustin Collette, and Peter Brocato. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dwayne Townley, Aaron Poulin, and Frank Iueli.
