Henry Albert Weilbacher, born in San Antonio, Texas on February 7, 1947, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and friend. Henry, who was known as "Bubba", was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. He was one of five children to Henry and Ethel Weilbacher. Bubba is preceded in death by his wife, Karen Scott Weilbacher, parents Henry and Ethel, and younger brother Steve. He is survived by his fiancée, Ann Breazeale; his two children Treye Weilbacher and wife Christin, children Kathryn, Benjamin Gaiennie and Braden; Corey Weiss and husband Scott, children Parker and Blake; and his siblings, Ann Haveman, Ellen Rhorer and Kurt Weilbacher. Bubba graduated from LSU with a degree in accounting. Early on in his career he was an accountant, later transitioning as an insurance agent with Met Life; then as a financial advisor with Cetera Financial Group where he was partially retired. Bubba loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching them play sports, taking them on trips and being a big part of their lives as they have grown up. Bubba never missed a social gathering or met a stranger. He wanted to really get to know everyone he met and never forgot a name. His loyalty growing up while attending Sacred Heart, St. Aloysius and Catholic High School is evident in the relationships he had with these lifelong friends. He was a devout Catholic, attending church every week at Our Lady of Mercy. He truly believed in God, the power of prayer and giving back to the community. Bubba fought a hard battle with cancer over the last several years but was always able to enjoy his life to the fullest. He was able to spend time with his family and loved ones, who were the most important thing to him. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 9:00am followed by 10:30am mass and reception at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Burial will follow the reception at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Roads, LA. The family would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to Henry's doctors at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, his doctors in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Corporate Angels, and Ground Angels for all they did for him during this journey.
