Longtime Baton Rouge resident and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Herbert S. Golden passed away on September 8th, 2015. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on April 7,1940, Herbert lived in many cities throughout the United States before serving in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Morocco. He also spent many hours volunteering for St. Vincent DePaul, Scouting and sponsoring his son's baseball teams. With a thirst for adventure, Herb was an avid parachutist and aviator who loved to pilot one of his many traditional and experimental aircraft. He was a pioneer in the sport of skydiving and participated and won many regional and national competitions. When not soaring through the clouds, Herbert loved to spend time outdoors with his family, boating, fishing, skiing and exploring the world. Herb was eternally devoted to his surviving wife Claudia and their two sons. He is survived by his son Brett, daughter-in-law Jodi their children Ben, Madeline and Julia and son Bryan, daughter-in-law Shawn and their son Andrew. He is also survived by Claudia's brother Kurt Kramer, wife Marilyn and their sons Kane and Jed. He is also survived by sister Rita Wilson, brother-in-law Douglas Wilson and brother Greg Golden.
