

A native and resident of Greenwell Springs, she passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. She was 89. Hilda loved her family and was happiest when she had them around her. Most of her time was spent riding her four-wheeler around her yard enjoying her flowers, plants and the birds that were attracted to her yard. She is survived by a son and his spouse, Barry and Brenda Hofmeester, Baton Rouge; four daughters and their spouses, Marsha and Steve Jacob, Clinton, Nita and Jay Roy, Dallas, Ore., Rhonda Patin and Paula and Kerry D'Antoni, all of Central; 13 grandchildren, Barrie H. Savoie, Brent H. Taylor, Buffy H. Koenig, Blayr Hofmeester, Brett Jacob, Stephanie J. Coxe, Brian Roy, Katrina R. Esquivel, Deron Patin, Lauren Patin, Blaine Patin, Kourtney D. Rogers and Jeremy D'Antoni; 17 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Nicholas, Justin, Jordan, Monica, Austin, Philip, Brendan, Britton, Reygan, Sydney, Brittany, Cierra, Meagan, Macy, Luci and Jolie; expected baby girl Patin; sister-in-law, Leah O. Trahan; six nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelis "Dutch" Hofmeester Jr.; parents, Paul F. and Rena T. Trahan; sisters, Joor T. Drumm and Rosemary Trahan; and brothers, Patrick L. Trahan and Paul E. Trahan. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. until services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Philip Spano will preside. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
