Holenn Roussel

Holenn J. Roussel Jr. passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Roussel was born on June 30, 1932 in Belmont, Louisiana to Holenn and Augustine Roussel. Mr. Roussel was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Roussel served in the Marines as a Sergeant. He is survived by his wife, Betty George Roussel of 57 years, sons Holenn III and wife Wanda, Blair and wife Theresa, daughter Vickie Sweezy and husband Brent; seven grandsons; Beaugh Sweezy, Nick Sweezy, Blaine Roussel, Kirk Roussel, Kyle Roussel, Bradly Roussel and Eric Roussel; three great grandchildren, Charles and Layna Sweezy and Rustin Sweezy; sister Enid Matherne and brother Errol Roussel. Preceded in death by his parents, Holenn and Augustine Roussel; brothers Garnet, Ray, Huey, Murry, George and sister Lorraine. Pallbearers will be Blaine Roussel, Kirk Roussel, Kyle Roussel, Beaugh Sweezy, Nick Sweezy and Eric Roussel. Honorary pallbearer will be Bradly Roussel. A special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and nurses, Bernice and Kendra, for all of the love and care they gave Mr. Roussel. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 10:30am until Mass of Christian burial at noon. Internment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
