
A retired Louisiana Department of Welfare supervisor with 25 years of service died in Baton Rouge on Monday, March 25, 2013. She was 84 and a native of Bayou Goula. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and resumes at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 27, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. conducted by Deacon Brent Duplessis. Burial will follow in Grace Memorial Park in Plaquemine. She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Gabel, and Minta Planchet and husband Kevin; three sons, Lee W. Miller, Jr., George Miller and wife Darlene, and Thomas Miller and wife Sylvia; a brother, Lee Victor Maurin, Jr. and wife Flo; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Lee W. Miller, Sr.; her parents, Lee V. and Irma Werner Maurin; a son, Michael V. Miller; and a grandson, Sgt. Michael John Gabel. Pallbearers will be George Miller, David Gabel, Brett Miller, Brandon Miller, Matthew Miller and Kevin Planchet. Irma was a long time member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
