

Isabel Jewell Addison, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 79. A loving and devoted mother, prayer warrior, and beacon of compassion, Isabel spent her life giving to others—offering her time, her heart, and often even her home to those in need.
She was preceded in death by many beloved family and friends, including her cherished son, James Edwin Trahan.
Those who will carry Isabel’s love forward include her daughter, Jamey Trahan; her daughter-in-love, Barbara Freeman; her granddaughter, Jordan Nuernberg; and her great-grandchildren: Noah, Gia, Amiyah, Selah, and Bjorn “Bear.”
Also left to honor Isabel’s memory are her lifelong and dearly treasured friend, Dianne Walker; devoted friend, Gerard Klein; and many cousins and extended family who will forever carry her memory with love.
Isabel’s legacy is one of unwavering kindness. She volunteered wherever help was needed and gave generously to every charity or person who crossed her path. Among her many acts of service, she opened her home to people with terminal illnesses, offering dignity, love, and comfort in their final days.
A graveside service celebrating Isabel’s life will be held on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at noon at Roselawn Memorial Park.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and faith—and hearts forever changed by her presence.
