
A retired boiler inspector for Zurich Insurance Co., he passed away on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at his son's residence in Baton Rouge. He was 90, born July 23, 1917, in New Orleans, and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with Order of the Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. and a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home chapel on Thursday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Joseph Arogyasami. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James Patrick Fleming III and Helen Fleming, of Baton Rouge, and Robert J. Fleming and Carolyn Fleming, of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandsons, James Patrick Fleming IV and Joe Floyd Fleming. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Kay Fleming; and parents, James Patrick Fleming Sr. and Agnes Landry Fleming. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, past master of William D. White Lodge 408, F&AM, and East Gate Lodge 452, F&AM, a 33rd degree member of the Baton Rouge Consistory, past High Priest, ILL., master and commander of the Downtown York Rite Bodies, a member of the Acacia Shrine Center, past monarch of Al Azar Grotto, past royal patron of Baton Rouge Court 4, Order of the Amaranth, past worthy patron of Istrouma Chapter 92, Order of the Eastern Star, and recipient of the York Rite Cross of Honor.
