With great sadness we report the death of our beloved sister, Jane Anne Kelley. Jane died on May 13, 2023 in Baton Rouge, LA surrounded by her loving family. Jane was born April 1, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up in Overland Park, KS. She attended Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Miege High School. Jane attended Pittsburgh (KS) State University but left prior to graduation to care for her mother who had suffered a disabling illness. True to Jane’s self-sacrificing nature and commitment to her loving family, she moved to Baton Rouge, LA in 1987 to be close to her sister, Mary Lou Kelley and help care for her nieces. Jane was a spiritual person who had a close relationship with Our Lord Jesus Christ. She worked throughout her adult life in sales and catering. She was well known in her career for her work ethic and highly conscientious approach to her many responsibilities. She will be remembered for her generosity, creativity, and the countless hours she was a fun-loving auntie to her nieces and nephews. She brought great joy to her brother, sisters and brother-in-laws as well her coworkers at the Crown Plaza, Juban’s, and Royal Standard.
Jane was much loved by her family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Jodine Dischner Kelley and by her older brother, Dr. Daniel Manion. She is survived by her three sisters and their spouses, Dr. Mary Lou Kelley (Owen Scott, III), Patricia Ken (Dr. James Ken) and Kayter Soldner (Woodruff Soldner) as well as nephews Jack and Kevin Ken and nieces Virginia, Lauren and Maureen Scott Steven (Cody Stevens), Catherine Ken and Samantha and Alexandra Soldner (Maxwell Eliot).
Second only to her family, she was passionate about all animals but especially her two cats, Frankie and Jewels. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cat Haven.
