Janette H. Hayden

Family & friends mourn the death of Janette Hodges Hayden on Sunday morning, August 28th, 2023 at The Crossing on Bluebonnet Blvd, surrounded by her family. Janette was born in Bossier City, La however, she was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, La. And preceded in death, her husband, Donald Ashton Hayden for more than 38 years until his untimely death in 2002.

Janette was a 1947 graduate of Istrouma High School and attended Louisiana State University where she was an LSU cheerleader. She was a passionate supporter of LSU athletics. She was a lifelong member of Istrouma Baptist Church, former member of Baton Rouge Country Club, and a retired co – owner of the Hayden Corporation.

Above all, Janette cherished her family. She is survived by her daughters, Molly Elizabeth Hayden Claitor (Jon), and Ginger Kay Hayden Lewis (Robert “Bobby”); grandchildren, Justin Lewis (Alejandra), Jamie E. Lewis, Rachel Mixon Bowden (Todd), Adam S. Mixon, and Jon Patrick Claitor; and four great-grandchildren, Lola S. Mixon, Scarlett R. Mixon, Vivian S. Bowden, and Charlotte Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robin Hayden; and her parents, Earl and Lola Hodges.

Janette has left countless memories of travels abroad & a life well lived, filled with love for family & friends. A memorial gathering will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 12 noon until memorial service at 1. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
