Jeffrey Thomas Maggio, age 56, passed away in October 2025 at Angola State Prison. Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.". Most of his life he struggled with mental illness and addiction, never feeling loved or wanted. Being made fun of for his illness and the things he did. The family did everything we could to help him, however to no avail. It changes your family to watch a loved one struggle the way he did. Be thankful if you've never had a loved one struggle with mental illness or addiction. He is survived by his sister Michelle. Preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Davis, who loved him very much. His father, Louis Maggio, who drank from the time he woke up, until he went to bed, and who treated him poorly. His grandmother, Dorothy Treadwell, whom he shared a special bon4 with. His granddaddy, Charles S Davis, who did everything he could for him until he couldn't. Grandparents Lina Barcelona and Tony Marchifava. To the ones at Angola who took care of him and treated him with kindness, you are appreciated. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice for those struggling with mental illness or addiction. A service will be held at a later date with just his sister in attendance. He will remain by his sister's side in an urn.
