

Dr. Jerry Richard “Rick” Thomas passed away on June 30, 2021, at the age of 56, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He resided in Houma, Louisiana, with Bridgett, his wife of 35 years, who cared for him in his battle with cancer in recent years with unwavering courage.
Rick was an experienced radiologist, an avid golfer, and life-long LSU fan. His family fondly remembers attending LSU football games, Rick’s yearly golf trips with his father and uncles, and spending time at the beach each summer. He will be missed by family and loved ones who knew him as a fun-loving, positive presence and a loving father and husband.
He is survived by his wife Bridgett Thomas; children, Amanda Thomas, Ashley Rooney and husband Collin, and Mitchell Thomas; mother, Sandra Thomas, father, Jerry Thomas and wife Kathi; sister, Jenny Lewis and husband Dave; uncles, David Thomas and wife Grace, and Robin Thomas and wife Jenni; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his grandparents, Horace “Mac” and Billie McCord and E.W. and Blanche Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021, from 9:15 - 10:30 am with a mass to follow, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 500 Goode St., Houma, Louisiana 70360. Grave-side burial service will be held at 2:45 pm at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815.
Special thanks to Dr. Marcus Ware and the Neuro team at Ochsner for the care that they provided to Rick and the support they consistently gave to his family. We would also like to thank all of the family and friends who were so helpful and supportive throughout Rick’s battle with cancer.
