Jessie Roberta Kelly

Jessie Roberta Forbes Kelly passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the age of 93. She was a native of Pride, LA, and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Roberta had a gift for seeing the best in other people and saw everyone as a child of God. She shared her faith by teaching Sunday School and led a nursing home ministry with her husband, George. Her love for the Lord, her faith, kindness, and dedication to her family and friends leaves a loving legacy to all that knew and loved her. Roberta is survived by her daughters, Holly Harless (Jack), Kim Braswell (Billy), and Robin Bauer (Angie Guedry); grandchildren, Beau Braswell (Ally), Jodi Loup (Matt), Chase Braswell (Nicole), Kelly Gonzales (Kase), and Vince Morella, Jr. (Erin); great-grandchildren, Ella, William, Grace, Amelie, Remi, Jennings, Robert, Matthew, Graydon, Margot, Parker, and Vinny; and a host of other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George Kelly, Jr.; parents, Robert and Pearl Forbes; siblings, Carl, Raymond, and Jerry Forbes, and Jewel Faye Cooper; and best friend, Tops Womack. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10am until the time of funeral services at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
