
God saw she was getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around her And whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched her suffer. And saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Beloved wife of Arthur G. Dufour, Jo went to be with our Lord on Saturday evening, June 2, 2007, at her home, west of Kentwood, surrounded by her devoted family. Born Feb. 10, 1932, in Baton Rouge, she was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Jo was the owner and operator of Joor Road Exxon from 1977 to 1981 and Paradise Fans from 1982 to 1986. She worked in advertising for the Amite Tangi Digest and Tangi Connection Magazine from 2004 to 2006. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, June 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., the Rev. Monsignor Gerald M. Lefebvre, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband, Arthur G. Dufour; four daughters, Mary Beth Langlois, Kathy Navarro, Denise Achee and Mickey Niederhofer and husband Ray; six grandchildren, Nestor Navarro and wife Natalie, Nicolas Navarro, Nicole Niederhofer and fiancée Dusty Guarino, Travis Niederhofer and wife Heather, and Clay and Christopher Achee; great-grandchild, Jackson Navarro; half sister, Helen Spyker; and half brother, George Spyker. Preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Sam Scurria Jr.; and first husband, Eugene J. Langlois Jr. Pallbearers will be Nestor and Nicolas Navarro, Dusty Guarino, Johnny Booty, Ellis Cupit and John Pourciau. Honorary pallbearers are Nolan Graham, Sammy Scurria and Vince Paola. Jo's family would like to thank Memorial Hospice and the many family members and friends who offered their love and support during her illness.
