

"Our sweet loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend has joined our mother and our Heavenly Father on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 88 years of age. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East on Sunday February 26 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, February 27 at St. Pius X Catholic Church from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, conducted by the Rev. Frank Bass and the Rev. Jon Koehler. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his daughters and their spouses Annette Cop and Larry Mitchell, Jennell Cop and Joseph Amorello Sr., Cecelia Cop and Alan Percle and his son John Michael and his wife Teresa Davis Cop; also survived by his most loved sister, Dorothy Cop Mire and her husband James E. Mire, and his loving little brother E. J. Cop and his wife Lana Lyons Cop. His greatest joy was his nine grandchildren and his "little ones" eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 62 years, LaVerne Duff Cop and his parents John Cop Sr. and Anna Monachello Cop. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Joseph Amorello, Jr., Chase Mitchell, Nicholas Amorello, Tim Amorello, John McCord and his nephew Justin Cop. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Martin, Kirk Martin and Todd Martin. He graduated from Istrouma High School in 1946. He was a Master Sergeant in the National Guards for seven years. He was a proud member of the United Commercial Travelers (UCT) for 65 years and served as Supreme Chaplin among numerous other positions. He worked for Wholesale Specialty Company for 28 years and retired. He then opened a new business, Cross Country Contractors and retired after 32 years. He loved hunting, fishing, photography, ushering, dominos, cooking, feeding others and eating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
