A retired carpenter and resident of Baton Rouge, he died of cancer at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in Baton Rouge. He was 93 and a native of Grosse Tete. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, April 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Thursday, April 12, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Grosse Tete. Survived by his daughter, Valerie Rose Holliday; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Rose Buffet Holliday; brother, Col. Joseph Holliday; sisters, Bernadette Hebert and Angelle Holliday; brothers, J. Sydney Holliday and Francis Holliday; and mother and father, Aurelie and Daniel Holliday. Pallbearers will be Dan Holliday, Thomas Holliday, James S. Holliday Jr., Linda Holliday, Noah Hebert and Matt Holliday. Honorary pallbearers are Julie Crifasi, Delicia Justice, Sarah Kane, Kate Kane-Laborde, Gina Romero, Chris Lenata and Jennifer Hebert. He was a master woodworker and carpenter.
