Kathy was born in Baton Rouge, LA. on April 3, 1941. She married Ronald Stott, on November 11, 1960. Her adult life began as a military wife and she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. As her children grew older, she was actively involved with school as substitute teacher, volunteer, and PTA president. In her “spare” time she loved bowling and was a member of numerous bowling leagues. She was a self-taught artist who’s love for art motivated her to open her own business, “Kathy’s Kollectibles.” Her paintings and talent were admired by many which eventually led her to teaching art classes.
Being a Granny was the biggest joy of her life. It did not matter if she was family or not, she was everyone's Granny. Her grandchildren made her immensely proud, and she made sure that everyone knew.
Kathy was also an avid baseball and football fan... “or should we say commentator.” It did not matter what teams were playing, she would loudly coach and cheer them on, especially her LSU Tigers!
In her later years, Kathy devoted most of her time at the First United Methodist Church and Misson Café in Baker. She was the secretary for the church and Café, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and loved decorating the altar each week.
Pallbearers will be Dane Hutchinson, Randall Stott, Brian Maranto, Dennis Maranto, and Chris Maranto.
Honorary Pallbearers are Branson Howe, Brock Bertucci and Braxtyn Bertucci.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many nurses and care givers from Heart of Hospice. Special thanks to Ann Pruitt for the last 1 ½ years of love and compassion you have shown this family. Not only the best caregiver, but also a peacemaker when needed. And finally, to our Rockstar Nurse, Jessica Dunaway, thank you for not only doing your job, but for treating us as family. This journey would not have been possible without you. Xoxoxo
