

Peter Kirby Goudeau, resident of Greenwell Springs, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the age of 89 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. Kirby was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a member of St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church. He served as a private first class in the 25th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during the occupation of Japan following World War II. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he owned and operated Kirby Goudeau Heating and Air Conditioning, and was the longtime owner of Goudeau-Huey Hardware. Growing up on a farm in Erwinville, La., he continued his love of gardening throughout his adult life. Kirby is survived by daughters Cecilia Beard and husband Patrick, Janice Ardoin and husband Verlin, Cheryl Wiewiorowski and husband Martin, Kirbye Hollier and husband Keith, and son-in-law Kenneth Naul; grandchildren Scott Beard, Chris Beard and wife Mary Helen, Melissa Fryday and husband Ed, Heather Pyburn and husband Lance, Jeff Naul, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Katherine Wiewiorowski, Eric, Callie and Danny Hollier; great-grandchildren Ethan Fryday, and Logan and Landon Pyburn; sister Gloria Rinaudo. Kirby was preceded in death by wife Gladys, daughter Linda Naul, parents Joseph Willie and Anita Goudeau, brothers Lester, Nat, Willie, Hillery and Bobby James Goudeau, and sisters Doll Ragusa, Gracie and Lily Vessier. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Debbie Darden for her years of loving care of their parents. They would also like to thank the staff of St Joseph Hospice. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 13940 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, La., from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Mike Moroney. Entombment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be his five granddaughters.
