

Lily Marie McKnight Capdevielle, a native of Boyce and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John J. Capdevielle; children, Jan Capdevielle Gravolet, of New Orleans, Judy Capdevielle Girod and partner Robert Rich, of Warwick, N.Y., and John "Ike" Capdevielle II and wife Pati Bahlinger Capdevielle; grandchildren, Seth Gravolet, Kelly Gravolet Young and husband Patrick Young, Trey Capdevielle, Alyce Capdevielle Blackstone and husband Chris Blackstone, Jacob Capdevielle and Mic Capdevielle; great-grandchildren, Aiden Young, Cole, Hensley and Pierce Blackstone and Carsyn Capdevielle; sister-in-law, Mattye Capdevielle Terrell, and brother-in-law, Walter L. Terrell, of Franklinton; and nephew, W. Lee Terrell, of New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwina and Thomas Kelly McKnight; infant twin daughters; and great-grandson, Neil Young. Lily was a graduate of LSU, class of 1942, and was retired from the Louisiana School Boards Association. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Thursday, July 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. David Allen, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family expresses special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge and Nursing Care Connections for the care and attention given to "Miss Lily" and her family.
